Ready to Come Back

It seems I went on a month long hiatus.

What to blog about? I can't...I need to study. Work first, then I can enjoy myself for a bit! Be back later (and I mean later as in less than 24 hours).

In the meantime check out YMS's site for some pictures of the activities I have been into this past month.

This is a Violation

I haven't been on for a while. This week hasn't been so hot for me, and I don't mean that in a literal way. Today, I'm breaking the rule of having pictures only from the day, and I'm walking down memory lane to the two week marker. The following is a deluge of photos I've gathered since then.

Thank you photography for capturing all this joy!

Some of my favorites (from left-right/top-bottom):
YMS and I | Papaya Peeling for Pickling | Late Night Party Limo Snap | Favorite Fruits
YMS in the BM era | "Do you find him handsome, miss?" | Brazil Nutt, Goodbye! | Heart of Warmth

Wicked, The Musical (from left-right/top-bottom):
The Stragglers |
Rendezvous Point | Bisexuality-in-Question Conference
A Face in the Crowd | Illegal Snap of Art

Iwen's Spring Welcoming (from left-right/top-bottom):
Midair Combat Training | Liquid Courage (Tequila) | The Spread
Banana Cake Fiend | The Malaysians | Swine Ale

Ménage à Sept in Boston (from left-right/top-bottom):
Shy People: SW | LT | JL | YMS | NK
Fugakyu Sushi Boat

This all reminds me of why I should work hard so that I have the ability to make more memories like these!

Solecism-ation

Boston is where it's at. The "it" being YMS, JL, and I.

I've spent the last several days with some very good friends of mine in the university metropolis of the nation. There have been many laughs, good times, and of course, how could I forget? ... rain ... lots and lots of ... rain.

In my haste from the get-go, I forgot my camera chord in a drawer down south. As soon as I return there will be many images for you to feast your eyes on accompanied by adages both long and short.

I still stand by my post two posts ago: keep good company because they help turn seemingly awful things (aka torrential rain) into great experiences.

Until I post again, work hard and smart, don't forget to enjoy life, and try to stay dry!

Favorite Quote of the Day: "They're so powerful ... (googley eyes)" - DW commenting on JL's 0-60 mph mixing time [ work / time = power ]

Once Upon A Date

Left to Right and Top to Bottom
Pistachio Cake | Oxtail Soup | Beautiful Woman w/ Eyes Averted (YMS) | Lemongrass Semifreddo

Things I learned on this date:
1. A woman doesn't need to look at you to be beautiful.
2. Desserts don't always need to have sugar.
3. Good desserts always need sugar.
4. Good food comes from hole-in-the-wall establishments (e. g. former Taiwanese take-out turned Japanese ramen shop).
5. Always...I repeat, always have a bowl of ramen next to you when eating stinky tofu (Taiwanese/Hong Kong Specialty; as for the ramen, I recommend oxtail soup as it does wonders to suppress the smell).

Lastly, keep good company because it doesn't matter what happens to you when you're with them they'll always manage to turn it into an adventure (even when you're gagging on your third piece of stinky tofu).

Heart Fabric

Where did the heart go? Look for it here.

This folder holds such a fond memory that I smile whenever I see it. Do you have something that makes you smile?

So Many Things, So Little Time!

This lasagna is desperately trying to tell you what happened this week, but alas, it sits warmly in the belly of a few as I try to resolve my method for remaining consistent in keeping this blog.

Cookie on a Cloudy Day

There are weeks when those around you will not have good days. My remedy to cheer a person up is to give them this small treat that often goes best with a glass of milk. Whether there are morsels of white or dark chocolate, chewy or crispy, large or small, it's not so much what you're biting into when these come your way, but knowing there's someone out there who'd like to move you from your gloomy disposition into a lighter, more productive, and cheerier you.

In the end, no matter how bad your day was, at least you're still healthy enough to tell someone about your day :-D.

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,

I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -
I took the one less traveled by
And that has made all the difference.

- Robert Frost, The Road Not Taken

My favorite of his.

It reminds me to be adventurous and brave, and for some reason not so tangible here, to challenge myself each and every day. If this makes all the difference, what kind of difference will that be?

I believe it will be a good one.

P. S.
There was a lull in posts due to midterms the last few days. May I have enough foresight in the future to be more consistent.

Parting Ways

"Ah, when to the heart of man
Was it ever less than a treason
To go with the drift of things,
To yield with a grace to reason,
And bow and accept the end
Of a love or a season?"
- Robert Frost, Reluctance 1913

It is never easy to do, but parting ways can be a good thing for your character as it teaches that you can't always get everything you wanted. You try hard to get it, there is no doubt that you should do that, but sometimes you have to let things take their course ... and they may very well continue in different directions.

There is nothing you can do, so embrace it and move on to better things.

Let life show you the way.

Unexpected Turn of Events

Every once in a while people will surprise you in an awesome way, and when they do, you should never ask for more. For what more CAN you ask than wonderful people?

I am blessed with friends.

A snippet of the beginning of what turned out to be a good night: unexpected and wonderful.

Maraming Salamat | Many Thanks

"Salamat sa aking pamilya para sa pagbati sa aking kaarawan!"
Thank you to my family for the birthday wishes!

Every year I get a care package from my loved ones. Don't get me wrong, I've always enjoyed munching on these delectable treats, but I've also felt something was missing until recently.

Let's just say there's a whole lot to be thankful for, and that now, I'm not the only one that enjoys munching on them!

Who is Inspiration?

I've started this blog finally after many months of admiring the numerous one-a-day posts on a blog belonging to a very good friend of mine. The pictures, the words, and insight into what she sees and how she sees it in her life inspired me to share another view of the world.

Who is Inspiration, you ask? Find out for yourself through the eyes of YMS.
